Managing Director

David Pollard founded Nala in 1979 having being made redundant from his previous role as a contracts manager with an electrical contractor based in Darlington.

He had worked previously as an electrician and contracts manager at various firms. He started Nala with the strong contact base he had built up and a handful of loyal clients. He is still involved in running contracts and has always believed in offering a reliable and quality service to continue and build on existing customer relationships.


Pat Pollard started the business together with her husband Dave in 1979, and assisted with the administration, estimates and accounts as well as bringing up a young family.

She had previously worked as a personnel manager for the Binns department store in Sunderland. Pat continues to be actively involved in running the business within the HR and accounts departments.


Nicola Duke, BA(Hons) CGMA has been with the business since 2000 when she joined having worked as a management accountant within a production facility.

Nicola is a company director and heads up the administration, accounts and HR team. She is also responsible for driving the company’s sales and marketing strategy.

Contracts Manager

Andrew Pollard has been with Nala since he started as an electrical apprentice at 19. He has since studied an HNC in Building Services and worked as an electrician before moving into office-based roles.

Andrew, along with other contract managers, oversee all projects from design through to completion, managing day to day progress on-site as well as liaising with clients and managing expectations. He is also committed to delivering excellence in installation standards and building on existing and new customer relationships.

Contracts Manager

Ian joined Nala in June 2021 as our newest Contract Manager.

With over twenty years of experience, working in the Mechanical and Electrical sector, he brings with him a fountain of knowledge and connections in the industry. Ian has already introduced new clients to the company and built a great rapport with existing clients and suppliers


Dennis Greenwood has worked for Nala for over 20 years as an estimator, having previously worked with Dave Pollard at another firm.

He is fully committed to the company ethos of fulfilling every existing client’s needs and requirements as well as being approachable and eager to take on tender enquiries from new and potential customers. Dennis continues to work for Nala on a part time basis.


Richard Jeffrey is relatively new to Nala, having started in 2016. He brings with him lots of experience not only in estimating but in contracts management, having worked previously as a site manager, commercial manager and commissioning manager for other organisations.

Richard previously ran his own successful contracting firm and has introduced new customers to Nala with a view to building strong relationships with them as future clients.

Payroll Administrator

Karen Phillips came to Nala in 2015 having taken time away from work to bring up a young family. As well as managing payroll, Karen is responsible for monitoring and booking staff training to ensure all staff are up to date with best current practice.

She also coordinates and ensures our SSIP accreditations are maintained as well as carrying out administrative duties together with Tracy and assisting with invoicing.


Office Manager

Tracy Lambert has worked for Nala since 2013 having previous worked as a team leader at Morethan Insurance for 12 years.

Tracy runs the day to day accounts work including invoicing, ordering and purchase and sales ledger payments together with general administration and reception duties.


Electrical Project Engineer

Phil came to Nala in June 2021 in his first office role. Prior to this Phil has worked as a National lead Electrical Inspection and testing engineer and site supervisor. 

With over fifteen years of experience in the industrial and commercial sectors he is the perfect fit for the Electrical Project Engineer. Phil’s role capitulates all the aspects of an Electrical engineer with the additional administrative duties.


Projects Coordinator / Administrator

Pauline joined Nala in November 2021 as a Project Coordinator. Her previous roles in Manufacturing and Procurement have given her vast knowledge and experience in varied areas of the business.

Pauline is supporting the day-to-day activities of the site Contracts Managers.


Business Admin Apprentice

Lennon joined us in July 2021 as our Business administrative apprentice.

He is the youngest member of our nala team at just 16. He attended Seaham High School and left in 2021 after achieving his GCSE’s.

Lennon is currently studying for his Business Administration qualification and shows an interest in the electrical and mechanical sector. He supports the administration team with the day to day running of the company.
